The convent of the Ospedalieri of Sant'Antonio

The convent of the Ospedalieri of San'Antonio used to be in the last block on the left side of via Po, together with a church that was renovated in 1750 by the architect Bernardo Vittone. Outside of the church animals were blessed. The convent and the church were demolished in the nineteenth century and a palace used as the headquarters of the Guardia del Corpo was built. Today the former convent hosts the Decorative arts museum of the Accorsi-Ometto Foundation. Between two stone columns that were probably the entrance to the convent, the symbol of the cross of the Order of the Ospedialieri is still visible.
