In the middle of the traffic of the city the monument to San Giuseppe Cafasso (patron of the prisoners) was erected at the point where the gallows were built for the executions. The bronze work, made 100 years after the death of the saint, was created by Virgilio Audagna and depicts the priest in the act of showing the crucifix to the condemned.
