Giuseppe Siccardi

Liberal jurist among those who promoted the Albertine Statute, in 1849, appointed minister of Grace and Justice in 1851, precisely to carry out a legislation for the renewal of relations between the state and the church, which was hailed as a victory of the secular state and that brought to a phase of difficult relations between the Kingdom and the Church. He left politics as soon as the law was passed and returned to his work as a jurist in the same year.
