Roman Turin

At the time of Romans, Piazza Savoia represented the western gate (many historians called it "la Decumana") - Decumano Maximo, now via Garibaldi. The door "opened" through the Gauls, and was part of the first belt of Roman walls of Augusta Taurinorum. From IV century the door became Segusina or Susina, facing Val Susa.
