San Giovanni's bonfire

The feast of Saint John (June 24), patron saint of the city, is one of the traditional events of the city that dates back to the Middle Ages. On the pile of wood is placed a pole with grafted the shape of a bull. The free fire of the pyre brings back 1000-year-old rites, which each historical town square maintains in different ways, with superstitions that still preserve.

The photo is taken by a drone flying over the crowded square in 2018, by Alessandro Graziano.
