Royal Palace and the square
The palace, in its simple and decisive severity, is the background to the northern part of the square, characterized by the anomaly of the cusp of the Shroud and the bell tower of the Cathedral: the architectural rigour of the palace enhances the particularity of the towering parts designed by Guarino Guarini and Filippo Juvarra.
