The area of the square
Over the years, Piazza Banchi, Always linked to commercial and banking activities, has undergone changes and reset keeping intact its vocation. Once outside the walls, it was the area dedicated to the maritime market.
In the picture (google maps) the aire of the Piazza Bianchi is underlined. In the foreground, at the bottom, there is Palazzo San Giorgio while on the background there is the cathedral of San Lorenzo
