The monument is located at the intersection of Corso Vittorio Emanuele II and Corso Galileo Ferraris. It is dedicated to Victor Emmanuel II of Savoy, who was the first king of Italy, and was commissioned by Umberto I, his son. The statue of Victor Emmanuel stands on high Doric columns and below it are represented Unity, Brotherhood, Work and Freedom.
