The Marina square

Where the Campana rock used to be, and where it is said that the first Genoese landed, today there is a square, the result of filling into the sea for the birth of the ring road. The filling began in the nineteenth century but the works for the current shape of the square were only completed after 2010.

The photo shows the sea filling. In the background, the Basilica of Santa Maria Assunta dominates the hill of Carignano. Just below you can see the Directional Center which destroyed Via Madre di Dio.
