X Mountain Festival: Italy of conifers, 1961
On September 3, 1961, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Unification of Italy, the 10th Mountain Festival took place in Castelluccio di Norcia. On that occasion a pinewood (still visible today) is made with the geographical shape of Italy on the ridge of the mountain overlooking the Pian Grande di Castelluccio.
During the 10th Edition of the Mountain Festival, in honor of the centenary of the Unification of Italy, the outline of the peninsula is drawn on the mountain slopes.
