The fairies, women of extreme beauty, loved attending parties and dances at Castelluccio, but they could stay among the men only at night, at dawn they had to return to their territory. During a dance, the sun surprised them and the fairies were forced to run away, but with their goat-feet, in their mad rush, they marked forever the wall of Monte Vettore, creating what is still called "La Strada delle Fate"(Faglia that cuts Monte Vettore at an altitude of 2000 m).
