In ancient times the inhabitants enjoyed lands, franchises and municipal privileges if they kept the residence inside the Castle: the land was worked only during the hottest periods of the year or used for pastures, during the transhumance periods, of the flocks that went up in the valley quote. As a seasonal phenomenon, these works became permanent, leading, over time, to the destruction of the beech forest that covered the whole area.
