On top of a hill that rises on the homonymous plateau (Piani di Castelluccio). Inserted in the Sibillini Mountains National Park at an altitude of 1,452 m above sea level, Castelluccio di Norcia it is one of the highest inhabited centers in the Apennines. In front of it stands the outline of Monte Vettore (2,476 m).
One of the symbolic places of the Apennines, where the relations between the fortified village and the cultivated plains, crossed by the flocks and framed by the verdant slopes of Monte Vettore.
