The monopoly of Christian Democracy

The project of the stall was committed to Giorgio Raineri directly from Olivetti, and it became a building that effectively harmonized with the landscape. Thanks to its architectural value, the project was mentioned in the valuable volume dedicated to the Olivetti Architecture of Ivrea. Moreover, in 1969 the building closed because of a generational change and the land was returned to its rightful owners. In this story, there were attempts of sabotage by politics: the Christian Democracy, through the Direct Farmers, and the control of the Agrarian Consortia, in fact, exercised a monopoly on the peasant world, therefore, many people were hostile to the project. Fortunately, this did not stop Olivetti from elaborating on one of his most successful projects.

The Agricultural Cooperative stall of Montalenghe, projected by Giorgio Raineri.
