By crossing via Castelvecchio it is possible to reach the ruins of the ancient medieval castle and admire the remains of some valuable buildings built between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. In Via Camillo Benso di Cavour 3, and 5 there are two important buildings dating back to the early twentieth century. The first one has a roof surrounded by “lambrequin”, which means – a scalloped border – similar to the edge of the curtains. Moreover, the building is decorated with a large baroque volute, just above the pedestrian entrance; furthermore, on the molding, which is a protuberance under the roof, there is a zoomorphic and vegetal theme pictorial decoration. In Via Camillo Benso di Cavour 5, there is a “lambrequin” carved in the roof supported by wooden posts. In this building, it is possible to admire some large windows on the veranda of great artisanal value, and the calligraphic wrought irons of the balcony railings.
