On the Morena of Ivrea
Montalenghe is located on the southern side of the Morainic Amphitheater of Ivrea, a monumental relief of glacial origin formed by a progressive accumulation of debris. Moreover, the 20-km enlargement of the Baltic Glacier reached the plain in front of Aosta Valley. The average elevation of the city has a considerable expansion: from 280 meters to 436 meters above sea level on top of the hill, where there is a wonderful view of the plain of Turin.
In the “Pera del Vais” forest, at the beginning of the "Pietre Bianche" tail, there is a huge erratic boulder, or rather a block of rock transported to the bottom of the valley by the Baltic Glacier.
