The Dukes of Genoa, the last inhabitants of the castle, have left several testimonies of their passage. The first Duke Ferdinando lived in the castle, inherited from aunt Maria Cristina, for a short period due to his death, however, he could modify several rooms in order to insert large quantities of books and objects. The Duke was a great lover of hunting, consequently, he created the Museum of Birds, with almost two hundred stuffed animals. Moreover, his son Tomaso, a naval officer, was devoted to long journeys in which he accumulated numerous objects and finds that were placed in the castle of Agliè. The memorabilia of his expedition to the East were collected inside the “Chinese living room” in the sixties of the twentieth century.
