"Motherland" among the most impressive statues in the world.
With a height of 102 meters and a weight of more than 500 tons, this statuary colossus is among the tallest monuments in the world. Only the pedestal reaches the height of 40 meters while the statue alone reaches 62 meters. The statue represents a woman holding a shield (12x8m) and a sword facing the sky 16 meters high. The material that composes it at the base is reinforced concrete while for the shiny part of the sculpture was used titanium. At the edges of the sword was inserted a special device to dampen the vibrations due to wind pressure. You can access it inside and enjoy two viewpoints at heights of 36 and 91 meters.
Many scientists, sculptors and architects contributed to the realization of the project. The sculptor Vasyl Borodai remains the main author of it.
