Marko Lukich Kropyvnytskyi was a Ukrainian theater actor, director, singer, playwright, who became famous as one of the brightest connoisseurs and exponents of Ukrainian village life. He is the one who brought the Ukrainian theater to the European level, regardless of the fact that these were rather difficult years for Ukrainian art. He died on April 21, 1910 on the way from Odesa to Olviopol (since 1918 the city of Pervomaisk), where he was on tour. Buried in Kharkiv.
