The evolution of the road

Construction was completed during the Austrian rule. At that time, the street was called "Herrengasse", which means "of the lords/wealthy" (in Vienna there is still a street of the same name) The name spoke for itself, only rich people lived here. Over the years it has been enriched even more, with new houses, restaurants, shops, banks and so on. Starting in 1936, the road was rebuilt by Isidore Chachkes and in 1940 the works were completed. Then the street was renamed after an important Bukovinian writer - Olga Kobylianska.
