A location for Woody Allen

In Woody Allen’s 1986 film "Hannah and her Sisters", a pair of protagonists travel to the Metropolitan Opera in New York, where the man has a private stage. Together they assist Manon Lescaut, delighted at the masterful performance of Giacomo Puccini’s opera. In reality, the actors did not shoot the sequence in New York, but at the Teatro Regio, probably chosen by Woody Allen because the world premiere of the opera was held in the Turin theatre, on February 1st, 1893.
