1967: a new beginning
The reconstruction of the Theatre began only in 1967 under the guidance of the architect Carlo Mollino, who completely renovated the structure. Not without criticism from the artistic community of the time, Mollino decided to abandon Alfieri’s model to follow contemporary architectural, stylistic and urban criteria (with great attention to acoustics, systems, internal distribution, the relationship with the urban context, the symbolic dimension).
