Juvarra's façade

The project of Juvarra, dated 1718, does not concern only the façade but a forepart that contains the majestic staircase leading to the upper floors, re-arranged in previous decades. The design is simple but majestic, an effect that is also obtained by the anomalous dimensions of the "giant" order of the columns and pilasters, of the staircase and of the huge and frequent windows, which virtually eliminate the walls on three sides.

Also in the drawing Juvarra enhances the simplicity, the lightness and the brightness of the architecture, obtained also using very clear and uniform materials (white marble, glass)
