From fortress to royal palace

The façade of Juvarra incorporates and hides the two surviving Roman towers and makes them invisible for those visiting the rooms on the first floor, completely reorganized with subsequent interventions according to the orders of the two royal madames and their successors.

In the drawing of F. Coni is highlited the most ancient part in the ground floor. In the other floors you can read the interventions after 1600. The Senate hall of XVII century, that covers the medieval courtyard, is emphasised.
