The fire at the Royal Palace and at the shroud's chapel

In April 1997 a fire devastated the wing of the Royal Palace and the Chapel of the Shroud that stands next during its restoration. The damage to the Palace is remarkable: in the wing two floors and the roof were completely devastated by the arson. Restorations lasted almost 20 years.

In the photo the firemen put out the fire in the Palace, while others are intervening on the Chapel.
