A sober and strong architecture

The initial design was very well connected both to the city and to the gardens, with an internal courtyard and an organic connection to Palazzo Madama and to the church complex (with the Duomo and the former bishop's palace)

In the view of the Theatrum Sabaudiae the installation of the Palace is clear: still open towards the gardens and separated from them by a porticoed gallery, which will be raised in the eighteenth century, to make room for the various apartments.
