The scissors' staircase

The "Scissors' staircase", an amazing architectural solution by Juvarra, was designed it in 1720 to give access to the upper floors of the royal palace, where the apartments for Prince Carlo Emanuele III were set up

From the section it is clear that the third ramp is supported only by the arches of the landings, like an arch in the void. As well the second ramp, split into two staircases on the sides, is also apparently without supports.
