Monastero di Svjatohirs'k / Свято-Успенська Святогірська лавра Sviatohirsk urban hromada
Sviatohirsk Lavra is a monastery located on the right side of Seversky Donets river.
The first written mention dates back to the sixteenth century, although various other historical sources say that the monastery dates back to the thirteenth century, when the terrible Mongol warrior Batu Khan terrorized today’s Ukraine and many monks left Kiev, starting to live in this city and building this great place.

Il monastero si trova in un paesaggio naturale speciale, sulle cosiddette "Montagne sacre". E' protetto da un lato dal fiume Donec e dall'altro da una foresta. Nel corso degli anni della sua esistenza, numerosi istituti furono costruiti al suo interno: una chiesa, una scuola per ragazzi, una biblioteca e un teatro.
