Built in 1835 by the Vercelli painter Luigi Cagna at the behest of King Carlo Alberto, it is located on the façade of the cathedral and is impressive enough to reach a weight of 900 kg. As evidence of the King's complex options, between culture and religion, the original location chosen must be taken into consideration: a hall of the Royal Palace where Holy Thursday Charles Albert performed the Washing of the Feet ritual for 12 poor people.
