At the middle of the bell tower structure is the bell cell with mullioned windows on each side, made with 32 cast iron columns to promote the propagation of sound, and to facilitate structural elasticity and contrast resistance to air. The same Faà di Bruno, who, before becoming a philanthropist and priest was a mathematician and inventor, designed the original bell tower.
