The factory has been working since August 12, 1933. The total area of "Azovstal" is 11 square kilometers. 41 departments and 80 huge rooms were built here. The factory has six giant blast furnaces, the departments and buildings of the metallurgical factory are scattered over the territory so much that special routes have been built to move between them. In the period from March 18 to May 20, 2022, fierce battles took place on the territory.
