Park, Walls and ancient city
The strict relationship between Parco del Castello and the historical center of the city is very perceptible: the entrance to the Park is a backdrop of Piazza Maggiore. The traffic passes all along the walls of the Castle, which to the visitor seem part of the walls of the ancient city itself; the garden near the door, with its bars, is a green extension of the area of the via Matteotti dehors, towards the Porta Vecchia.
