International exhibitions

Starting in 1884, the Valentino Park was the site of numerous international exhibitions, which enriched it with attractions such as the Medioeval Village, lighting systems, electric tramways or other innovations from time to time in the forefront. However, it is the Universal Expo of 1911 that most marked the city, when it became necessary to arrange the right bank of the river, to make room for grandiose structures, the first settlement that led in the following years to a qualified urban expansion in that direction.
