Giardini Reali Torino

In 1864, a zoological park was settled in the lower royal gardens, at the behest of Vittorio Emanuele II. At his death, his successor Umberto I wanted to donate it to the Turinese, who refused because of high maintenance costs. It was closed to visitors in 1883 and finally dismantled in three years.
