Giardini Reali Torino

Between the Ducal Garden and the Arts Garden, the grove was created in the nineteenth century. The landscape architect Paolo Peirone redesigned this area as part of the general renovation project, planting a new undergrowth below the big trees and along the wide avenues running among the flowerbeds. "Precious Stones", an installation by the artist Giulio Paolini, was placed inside the grove. This piece recovered some of the original marbles of the Chapel of the Shroud that were damaged during the 1997 fire.
