Sofiyivka Park was established in 1796 and was built for 6 years by Polish patron Stanislaw Potocki for his third wife, Sofia. Sophia - constantinople courtesan of Greek descent, according to one legend she was the concubine of the sultan,spy and adventurer, managed to become a polish aristocrat. Her father was a bankrupt Greek merchant. After the death of her father, the girl's mother began to work in a brothel in order to somehow feed her family. A few years later, Sophia became the wife of Joseph Witt, the head of the Kamyanets Fortress. Twelve years later, at the age of 31, Sofia was introduced to the very rich and influential Potocki. Sophia decided to win Potocki's heart. Also, as a specialist in love affairs and intrigue, she understood that the main word of love is "no". Thus, Sophia tormented Potocki's heart. After he has won his lady's heart, she asks the count to build and dedicate a park to her. Potocki could not refuse his wife. He invited the best masters and began to design a majestic monument of their love - Arboretum "Sofiyivka".
