It received the award for the great organizational capacity proved by the program`s promoters in enhancing cultural and environmental resources and managing in an integrated way services for local development. The main resources they counted on were both environmental (seaside, high biodiversity forests) as well as historical (millenary mining areas, historical town centers). Starting from the creation of the managing subject - a company formed by local authorities – the initiative proposes a model of sustainable tourism development, based on local resources and balancing values such as economic development, social justice and private - public partnership.
