TheTheatre Carignano

The Theatre Carignano is one of the most beautiful examples of Italian-style theatres and one of the symbolic locations of the city. Operating since the beginning of the 18th century with some representations for the court, it was redesigned in the middle of the century by Benedetto Alfieri. Destroyed by fire in 1786, it was rebuilt by Giovanni Battista Ferroggio in its present form, despite some operations of the 19th and the 20th century. In 2009, a renovation work restored the original entrances and the ancient undergrounded brewery which is converted in the new foyer of the theatre.
