Palazzo Isnardi of Caraglio

The palace occupies part of the San Giovanni Battista island, on the east side of the square. The last heir of the illustrious family entrusts Benedetto Alfieri with the completion of the palace in the mid-18th century. The façade (Castellamonte) remains intact, whereas two new wings, which are intended for the galery, the library and the gala rooms, are built. Moreover, an octagonal living room with golden stuccos (Ladatte), frescoes (Molineri) and a magnificent staircase make it one of the most sumptuous buildings of the city. The palace passes through several owners before becoming property of the marquises Solaro del Borgo.

The octagonal living room with the three Molineri's paintings, the Rapous' flowers and the Ladatte's stuccos. The architectural design was carried out by Benedetto Alfieri and Giovanni B. Borra.
