In the 1976 movie, as in the others of the same genre, Porta Palazzo is the image of urban chaos, where inevitably grows crime, where everything is confused in an environment without rules: in the collective imagination the traditional market of Turin does not exist anymore, overwhelmed by the wave of migration, of different cultures, perceived as a dark threat.
In the '70s, the noir and detective stories, in full development in Italy, set many films in Turin and the market is a must for some scenes.
