Massaro's film, 1983, with Banfi and Calà, portrays Porta Palazzo as a place where is depicted the intercultural conflict between North and South of Italy caused by the industrial migration of the 1960s and 1970s: a Turin market progressively conquered by immigrants Southerners.
The mobile stalls of the market and the mountains of garbage after the closure immediately define a perfect context for the bad luck and "the art of getting by", typical ingredients of the Italian comedies of the '80s.
