When it was called Piazza Emanuele FIliberto

The late-century postcard witnesses the importance of the square, that it becomes the identifier of the city for a traveler. The picture, taken from the northwest, shows the palace that closed the octagon of the square after damaged by the war and rebuilt with many more floors in the 1970s.

Until 1946 the square was named after Emanuele Filiberto. Here a postcard of the first half of 1900s.
