Турецька площа / Piazza Turca Chernivtsi urban hromada

Bukovina was under Ottoman control. According to the legend a Pasha fell in love with a woman from Chernivtsi, he had intenetion to marry her but she refused him. The consequences has been devastating, he forbidden to every Chernivtsi's citizen to get water from the well. One day, the woman decided to try and take some water but she immediatly understood that the noble turk would have forced her to follow him, so instead to live a life as a submissive she killed herself by jumping inside the well.
