Piazza Carlo Alberto Torino

At the beginning of the seventeenth century, at the beginning of the first section of today’s Via Cesare Battisti, there was the "contrada of the garden", so called because it bordered the now non-existent garden behind Palazzo Carignano. Popularly it was also called «contrà del giardin del prinsi». The street opens in front of the eighteenth-century door of the Palazzo Graneri della Roccia, which now houses the Circolo dei Lettori in Turin.
