Piazza Carlina (Carlo Emanuele II) Torino

During the French occupation the square used for the market housed the guillotine (over 270 heads fell in Turin in those years, mostly criminals), it took the name of "Place de la Liberté", even though it hosted the guillotine of the City. When the Savoys returned, it was converted into a square for the gallows.
