Borgata Vanchiglia Torino

Along the Po, downstream of the Ponte della Gran Madre, until the end of the 19th century, there was a village of the most humble, where laundry and boatmen were at the service of the city. Moschino, so nicknamed for the presence of flies and fleas, testifies to the bad hygienic conditions. With the development of the ordered design of the workers' and industrial building of Vanchiglia, Borgo Moschino was dismantled, leaving room for the extension of the Murazzi and the opening of Via Napione.
