The square cut

Towards the end of 19th century, with the help of Naples low, an improvement of Quattro Pietre quarter was taken in place. A diagonal route was proposed and adopted with the municipal act on 13 March 1885, despite the dissention of Turin. The idea was innovative, and it allowed to connect Piazza Castello to the new square solferino.
