Corso Vittorio Emanuele II Torino

The arcades of Corso Vittorio integrate the large arcade system of the central area and continue in the adjacent avenues, up to the station of Porta Susa. An 18 km route! Of particular interest is the section included in the Promis Plan for the area of Porta Nuova that extends to the Corso Re Umberto. The design of the arcades, characterized by an alternation of arches and rectangular openings overlapping, is once again a reinterpretation of the Serliane scheme of the Vitozzi Piazza Castello, the Castellamontiana Piazza San Carlo and the neoclassical Piazza Vittorio. Beyond the Corso Re Umberto, towards the west the porticoes, built between the 19th and 20th centuries, are lighter, supported by stone columns, of a height of seven meters and a width of over five meters.
