The first part of the avenue

The first section of the Avenue of the King, designed in 1822, takes several years to complete its construction. The large blocks on the north side undergo successive fractionations with additions of buildings within the plots that modify the first vocation to villas with gardens in a wide variety of building types. The slow transformation takes place under the careful control of the Building Council in order to integrate the different adjacent buildings, through complex and long operations. In the middle of the century the process is accelerated, due to the influence of the nearby urban expansion, implemented according to the Plan of Promis.
