Important infrastructural interventions redesigned the area's road system and its connection with the rest of the city. The north-south railway link, tangent to the Spina 3 area along Corso Principe Oddone is buried and over a large overpass reconnects the east and west parts of the city; the burying of Corso Mortara in an east-west direction replaces the large elevated railway; a new bridge over the Dora, alongside the existing one, links Via Orvieto and Via Livorno.
